IP Snare Privacy Policy
Effective Date: November 19, 2025
1. Introduction
Visionful Limited (trading as "IP Snare," "we," "us," or "our") provides industry-standard bot detection, traffic quality scoring, and real-time analytics services for job boards and job aggregators (the "Service").
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information in connection with:
- Our corporate website, ipsnare.com (the "Site").
- Our provision of the IP Snare Service to our business clients ("Clients").
2. Our Role in Data Processing
We handle two distinct types of data, and our responsibilities vary for each:
- Data Controller: We are the Data Controller for the information we collect directly from visitors to the ipsnare.com Site and from our Clients (e.g., account details, billing). We determine the purposes and means of processing this data.
- Data Processor (Service Data): We are the Data Processor (or Service Provider) for the End User Traffic Data we collect and analyse on our Clients' websites. Our Clients remain the Data Controllers for this information, and we process it strictly on their instructions and under a separate contract.
3. Information We Collect
3.1. Information Collected from Clients and Site Visitors (Data Controller)
This data is collected when you visit our Site, book a demo, request information, or sign up for the Service.
- Contact & Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, company name, and job title when you register, request a demo, or communicate with us.
- Billing Information: Payment details and billing address.
- Usage Data: Information about how you interact with our Site and Client dashboard, including IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and access times, for operational analytics.
3.2. Information Collected from End Users (Traffic Data Analysis - Data Processor)
When our Clients use the IP Snare Service, we analyse traffic data about the users visiting the Client’s website (e.g., job seekers). We act as a Processor for this data.
The data collected by the Service is technical and behavioural, and it is used specifically to distinguish human traffic from automated bot traffic:
- Traffic Identifiers: IP addresses, device identifiers, and unique identifiers generated by the Service.
- Technical Data: Browser type, operating system, language settings, and user agent strings.
- Referral Data: Information about the source that led the user to the Client's website.
Note on Sensitive Data: We generally do not collect personal identifying information (like names, addresses, or explicit job search queries) from end users. If a Client’s integration provides such data, we process it only as instructed by the Client for bot detection purposes.
4. How We Use Information
4.1. Use of Client and Site Visitor Information (Our Data Controller Purposes)
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Site and the core Service.
- To process transactions, manage your account, and provide customer support.
- To send administrative information, such as service updates and security alerts.
- To communicate with you about marketing promotions, product news, or events (where permitted).
4.2. Use of End User Traffic Data (Our Data Processor Purposes)
We process this data solely to fulfil our contractual obligations to our Clients:
- Bot Detection and Scoring: To execute advanced algorithms to identify and score traffic quality, isolating automated or fraudulent activity.
- Reporting: To provide Clients with centralised reports, real-time analytics, and auditable evidence to secure their revenue and protect their ad spend.
- Dispute Resolution: To furnish transparent data that assists Clients in eliminating traffic billing disputes with their partners.
5. Sharing and Disclosure of Information
We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties. We may share information in the following circumstances:
- With Our Clients: End User Traffic Data is shared exclusively with the specific Client who engaged us to analyse traffic on their platform.
- Service Providers and Sub-Processors: We rely on various third-party companies and individuals ("Sub-Processors") to help us deliver and maintain the core Service, such as for data hosting, infrastructure, and technical support. These providers are strictly prohibited from using the data for their own purposes, and they are contractually obligated to process all data in compliance with our instructions and security standards.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of IP Snare, our Clients, or the public.
- Business Transfers: Information may be transferred to a successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets.
6. Data Security, Retention, and Transfers
6.1. Data Security and Retention
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we process against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, and unauthorised disclosure or access.
- Client Data: We retain account and contact information for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide the Service.
- End User Traffic Data: We retain this data for the period defined in our contracts with our Clients, typically for audit, reporting, and dispute resolution purposes, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.
6.2. International Transfers of Information
Visionful Limited is based in the UK. However, the Service may utilise global infrastructure, meaning your information, or the End User Traffic Data we process, may be transferred to, and stored in, countries outside the UK and the European Economic Area (EEA), such as the United States.
When we transfer personal data internationally, we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to it by implementing at least one of the following safeguards:
- The transfer is to a country deemed to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data by the European Commission or the UK government.
- Where specific consent has been obtained, or where we use Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission or the UK ICO, which give personal data the same protection it has in the UK/EEA.
